Rain, Rain, Rain

Have you ever thought about your roof? Taken a look at it, admired it? If not, you should. Your roof is pretty important, but it is often overlooked by almost everyone until something happens. Without a roof, you would be cold, wet and unprotected from good old mother nature. This is the core idea behind Go Roof Tune Up. We want nothing more than to help you take care of the roof that protects you and your family. We are a community of roofers that want to share tips, truths and offer help in any way we can to ensure your protection and safety.
Here are some helpful tips if your roof springs a leak:
1. Move the furniture or whatever else the water is dripping on.
2. Place plastic under the affected area, or over furniture or other household items you cannot move.
3. If the rain is coming through the ceiling, punch a hole in the ceiling so the water only effects that particular area and not the whole ceiling.
4. Place a bucket under the dripping water in the center of the plastic.
5. Finally, if you have them, place a fan or two around the affected area to help dry things out.
Hope this bit of roofing knowledge helps you in a time of need. In the coming weeks and months, we will be posting interesting facts and helpful tips about the proper care and maintenance of your roof. Be sure to check back with us often and visit our Facebook and Twitter pages where you can like us and post any comments or questions you might have. We care very much about our community and we are always here to help.

New Go Roof Tune Up Commercials!

You can now tune in to our new Go Roof Tune Up commercials! Hear us on KFI-AM 640 during your weekday morning commute, or on NPR KPCC 89.3 Saturday afternoons during Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion!" We're continuing to bring roofing safety and inspection to the Southern California community!

Meet John Stout, the VP of Go Roof Tune Up!

Meet John Stout, the Vice President of Go Roof Tune Up!
John started roofing in 1955 following his uncle into the business. He has been active in residential and commercial roofing ever since.

While Southern California was growing and expanding, John was on the leaning edge of what was new in roofing materials and systems. He worked with many major builders roofing new communities for the growing region from San Diego to Oxnard. In the late 1970's, when tile started to become a desirable product for production housing, he was among a small group of innovative forward thinkers that brought this product to the main stream.

John has worked as a consultant on projects as small repairing single family homes to overseeing reroof projects on major industrial complexes. His dedication to quality and superior workmanship has earned him a reputation in the industry as an icon.

Training, fairness and uncompromising attention detail are paramount in his ever present desire to improve the industry that provides a basic element of security we all pray for, "a roof over our families head."

Go Roof's Work in the Community

We here at GoRoof TuneUp feel very strongly about making ties with our Southern California community. We have worked with Home Aid Orange County, www.homeaidoc.org, on projects to repair and maintain housing for those in need. Here's a list of some of the charities we have worked with in the past:

Olive Crest: serving abused, neglected and at-risk children http://www.olivecrest.org/
Corona Rescue Mission/Village of Hope: serving homeless families and individuals http://www.rescuemission.org/cnrmweb/
Girl's Hope: serving children at risk with high academic potential through high-school

At Olive Crest, we worked on the Ranch and 4 houses, all of which were inspected and Tuned-Up. We also inspected the School.
At Corona Rescue Mission, the rescue mission consisted of one building with a composition roof. This building was inspected and Tuned-Up.
At Village of Hope, both barracks in Tustin, CA, were inspected.
At Girl's Hope, we inspected and Tuned-Up a home in Fullerton.

Here's a photo from the dedication at Girl's Hope this summer:

We look forward to continuing our work with these important organizations! And we hope you'll continue to support our work at GoRoof TuneUp.
